Using the editor

Open a SQUID Manager .prj export or create a project. Select a track and pattern, then edit each step’s notes, velocity, gate, CC values and transpose automation. Up to eight notes fit in a step.

Use Pattern sets to capture, edit or recall scenes across tracks. Musical settings edits fixed length, swing, probability, scale, modulation and arpeggiator settings. Track harmonizer chords and step ties, chord assignments, speed, roll and Groove Bend have their own controls. Interpolate / randomize previews an edit before applying it; undo restores the previous project.

In note fields, Up/Down adjusts the number and Left/Right moves the text cursor. Tab follows pitch, velocity, gate and offset; Escape returns to the selected step. Editing an empty note's pitch enables it. Enable Advance after chord for piano typing. Export a .prj copy and check it arrived in Downloads. Enable local autosave under Recovery for recovery after a reload.

Copy or move pattern

Choose an empty destination. All pattern settings and automation travel with the pattern.

Group tracks as drums

Names such as dr1_kick and dr1_snare join group 1. dr2_* joins group 2. Each row uses its original SQUID track and notes.

Copies output, MIDI channel, delay, bank MSB/LSB, program and five CC assignments. The first participating track is the lowest-numbered member.

Export MIDI

Exports stored active notes, offsets, gates, velocity, assigned CCs, channel and project tempo on a straight sixteenth-note grid. Running direction, pattern speed, swing, scale, arpeggiator, probability, count/divide, transpose and other performance effects are shown in the editor but are not rendered into MIDI.

Local recovery

Stores project bytes in this browser. Restore is offered on the next visit. A project export is still your portable copy.

Pattern sets

Each set stores one pattern and a mute state per track. Choose a set, then edit its entries. Every change is undoable. Recall selects its patterns in the editor and applies its mute states.

Interpolate / randomize

Steps use their grid numbers. Pitch is MIDI 0–127; gate is in steps (0.125–64); velocity and CC are 0–127. The outer anchors bound the edited region.

Create a drum view

Choose how to arrange your sounds. Your notes and routing stay editable in the project.

Eight notes on this track

One SQUID track, eight fixed note lanes. Shared routing and pattern settings.

Combine existing tracks

One row per participating track. Coordinate their pattern slots and routing.

How drum views are stored

The editor uses a DR_ track-name prefix for eight note lanes, or dr1_, dr2_ and so on for groups. These names travel with your .prj file.
